Apple reportedly finishes development work on initial release version of iOS 16

Apple engineers have finished work on the official release version of iOS 16, which is slated to be released next month with the launch of the iPhone 14, according to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman who reiterates his previous report in this week’s edition of his Power On newsletter, which claimed that iPadOS 16 will be held back and released alongside macOS Ventura in October.
According to Gurman, Apple engineers have the release version of iOS 16 ready and waiting to be rolled out officially next month, with the next few beta releases before the software’s public release expected to offer improvements and bug fixes to wrap up the beta cycle.
Gurman has previously claimed that Apple is postponing the release of iPadOS 16 until October, blaming issues with bugs with the Stage Manager multitasking feature as the reason behind the delay.
Despite Apple not officially sharing a planned release date for iPadOS 16, the new update for iPad was widely expected to release in September, alongside iOS 16 which reportedly is on schedule and unaffected by the delay.
