15-inch MacBook with M2 and M2 Pro rumored to arrive in 2023
Just over a week after Apple announced its all-new 13.6-inch M2 MacBook Air at WWDC last Monday, respected industry analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has backed up a recent rumor that reports Apple is working on a new 15-inch MacBook, suggesting that the new machinee could feature M2 and M2 Pro chips.
In a tweet on Wednesday, Kuo said Apple is planning to send its new 15-inch MacBook into mass production during the first half of 2023, noting that the machine could launch during the second quarter of the year or later with two CPU options: the recently announced M2 chip (with 35W adapter) and unannounced M2 Pro chip (with 67W adapter).
Bloomberg was first to report on the rumored 15-inch MacBook last week, noting how the new machine could be released as soon as next spring.
The original report claimed that the new 15-inch MacBook would keep the same design as Apple’s newly announced M2 MacBook Air, which drops the traditional MacBook Air wedge-shape look for something more similar to the flat edges of the 2021 MacBook Pro, featuring four finishes — silver, space gray, midnight, and starlight, MagSafe charging, a 1080p FaceTime HD camera, four-speaker sound system, up to 18 hours of battery life, and more.
