Three new Macs appear in Eurasian Economic Database ahead of rumored March special event
Three new Mac models have appeared in the regulatory Eurasian Economic Database ahead of Apple’s rumored special event on March 8, where analysts have suggested a new M-series Mac will be announced alongside a new 5G iPhone SE and updated iPad Air.
The new Macs, listed with model numbers A2615, A2686, and A2681 are described as running macOS Monterey with no further details, although one model is listed as a laptop, which could be Apple’s rumored new entry-level “M2” MacBook Pro, as spotted by Consomac.
The Eurasian Economic Database has proven itself to be a goldmine for finding new Apple products months ahead of their official release. In January, Apple added new iPhone and iPad models to the list, which are expected to be the new iPhone SE and iPad Air rumored to launch on March 8.
Apple is expected to launch a new “iMac Pro,” entry-level MacBook Pro and redesigned MacBook Air this year. It isn’t entirely clear what will come first, but so far reports are pointing to the new MacBook Pro as being the first Mac to launch in 2022.
The entry-level MacBook Pro is expected to have similarities to the redesigned M1 Pro and M1 Max models that launched in October last year, with the machines likely not to feature the Touch Bar found on previous generations, instead featuring a Touch ID sensor on one of the keyboard keys, with lesser processors and storage options.
