Apple CEO Tim Cook earned close to $100m in stock and salary in 2021
Apple has published its annual proxy statement, scheduling its yearly meeting of shareholders for March 4, 2022. With the filing, Apple has revealed how much CEO Tim Cook earned in 2021, declaring earnings totalling $98.7 million in base salary, stock, and other compensation.
Cook was paid a $3 million base salary alongside a substantial stock award of $82,347,835 in 2021, the document notes. Additionally, Cook was paid $1,386,559 in compensation to cover security, private jet usage, and other business-related expenses.
Apple’s proxy statement shows earnings for other Apple executives including CFO, Luca Maestri, SVP of Retail and People, Deirdre O’Brian and COO, Jeff Williams who each netted between $26.97m – $27m in salary and shares.
According to the document, Apple paid out $712,488 to cover Tim Cook’s private aircraft travel and $630,630 on security expenses. As CEO of one of the world’s largest companies, Apple requires Cook to fly by private jet only for security reasons.
