UK adds NHS COVID Pass to Apple Wallet

The UK’s National Health Service has released an update to its official NHS app, adding the country’s COVID Pass to the Apple Wallet, which allows citizens to prove their COVID-19 status when attending events and venues in England.
The COVID Pass will show a person’s vaccination records to prove if they are fully vaccinated against COVID-19, allowing entry into certain venues in the country such as nightclubs, Premier League football matches and major concerts, although the BBC reports that the digital COVID Pass will not be valid for international travel.
The update comes after Apple blocked the NHS’s previous app update after it implemented new location tracking features that went against the iPhone maker’s privacy rules in April.
Users with the NHS app will now see an option to add their COVID Pass to the Apple Wallet, alongside their Apple Pay bank cards and travel tickets. Users must register with their National Health Service details, and then choose Get your NHS COVID Pass from the Popular Services section.
