A15 chip for iPhone 13 now in production, Digitimes reports
Apple supplier TSMC has reportedly started production of the A15 chip to be used for the iPhone 13, according to a report from Digitimes citing industry sources, claiming the new chip is expected to be produced in larger volumes than the A14 Bionic in the iPhone 12.
The new A15 chip is expected to bring improved performance and improved power efficiency to the iPhone, which reports suggest is on schedule to be announced as soon as September this year.
Rumors point to the iPhone 13 featuring a 120Hz ProMotion display, smaller front-facing notch and larger camera lenses. It is understood the iPhone 13 range will comprise of the same sized devices as Apple has with the iPhone 12.
TSMC has kicked off production for Apple’s next-generation iPhone processor dubbed A15 and will see demand for the chip surpass that for its predecessor last year in scale, according to industry sources.
