Apple delaying launch of new 5G iPad Pro until 2021
Apple is delaying the launch of its rumored new 12.9-inch 5G iPad Pro until 2021, according to a new report by Chinese-language publication United Daily News, citing the impact the coronavirus outbreak has had on Apple’s supply chain partners as the reason behind the delay.
The news follows after analyst Jeff Pu also claimed last week that the new iPad Pro, which originally was slated to launch towards the end of 2020, has now been delayed.
Reports claim the new 5G iPad Pro will feature mini-LED technology, which allows for thinner and lighter product designs, while offering many of the same benefits of OLED displays. It is believed the iPad will be one of many new Apple products that adopt mini-LED displays, including new MacBook models launching in late 2020/early 2021.
