Apple likely to release new 16-inch MacBook Pro this week, private media meetings being held in New York
Apple’s highly anticipated 16-inch MacBook Pro will likely be released later this week, as Apple begins hosting private meetings with members of the media in a secret location in New York, according to sources close to the supposed launch.
Icons uncovered within the macOS Catalina 10.15.1 developer beta gave us our first official indication Apple was readying a new 16-inch MacBook Pro following numerous reports claiming one was in the pipeline. Disappointingly, the icons suggested the new machine won’t feature a full redesign as many had expected but as they say, it isn’t over until the fat lady sings and in this case – it isn’t official until Apple announces it.
The rumored launch of the 16-inch MacBook Pro this week may also see Apple officially release its powerhouse $5,999 Mac Pro after the machine was first announced earlier in the year.
Apple’s new 16-inch MacBook Pro is said to include an LCD display with a 3,072×1,920 resolution, and a retail price of $3,000+. Additionally, the model is reported to return to using the conventional Apple scissor switch keyboard design following the failure of the supposed “next-generation” butterfly keyboard that has been plagued with faults since it launched in 2015.
