Apple to release redesigned 16-inch MacBook Pro in October, priced over $3000
Apple is expected to release its rumored all-new 16-inch MacBook Pro in October, featuring an LCD display with a 3,072×1,920 resolution, and a retail price of $3,000+.
Published on Tuesday by Taiwan’s Economic Daily News, a report cites sources close to Apple’s supply chain who claim the redesigned machine will boast an LCD display with a 3,072×1,920 resolution.
Apple is also predicted to release an update to the 13-inch MacBook Pro and MacBook Air. – The extent of the updates for the latter wasn’t shared, though at this point it isn’t believed the 13-inch MacBook Pro will receive the same radical new redesign as the larger sized model.
The EDN claim within their report that assembly of the new hardware will take place at Quanta and Foxconn factories, with LG gearing up to be the sole supplier of LCD displays.
Economic Daily reporter Xie Aili suggests the price of the machine will exceed NT$90000, over $3,000.
EDN echo an earlier report by from IHS Market, published by Forbes which said the display on the new MacBook Pro will have a 3072×1920 resolution, compared to the 2880×1800 panel used on all 15-inch MacBook Pro.
