Thieves target Apple’s Corte Madera store for the second time in six months, taking $24k worth of display devices
After being burglarised back in November, Apple’s Corte Madera store has yet again been targeted as part of a planned theft in which police report that $24,000 worth of iPhones, iPads and Macs were stolen.
As seen in the main image, the Apple Store stood bare as display devices (which disable themselves once being taken out of range of Apple Wi-Fi) were taken from their wooden tables by five burglars in their late teens or early 20s who entered the store shortly after closing yesterday.
Apple Store robberies aren’t an uncommon occurrence, with the company’s store on University Avenue in Palo Alto ram-raided by thief’s who used a vehicle to force their way into the location back in December.
Shortly after 8 p.m., which is closing time for the store, five burglars in their late teens or early 20s entered the store and grabbed 17 iPhones, three iPads and two computers.
