Apple has revealed an updated HomeKit webpage, sharing a new promotional video and refreshed design
Ahead of WWDC 17 in June when Apple is expected to expand HomeKit support to the Mac, Apple has today revealed an updated HomeKit webpage, sharing a new 45-second promotional video and refreshed layout which is consistent with other recently updated Apple webpages.
The video released by Apple shows a day in the life of a HomeKit user, with a lady saying “Good morning Siri,” starting a scene that turns on a ceiling fan and raises house blinds, with the user then tapping a scene named “Breakfast Time,” on via the iOS Home app which triggers an iHome smart plug connected to a coffee maker. – As of yet, Apple hasn’t released the video onto their company Youtube channel, with the video only accessible when clicking the “Watch the film” link which opens a window and automatically plays the trailer. – The promo continues, then showing the lady returning in the evening, starting to wind-down and settle in for the night with HomeKit dimming the lights, closing the blinds and locking the door.
As well as the new promotional video, Apple has reworded the way they promote HomeKit, the header tagline and image has been updated to read, ” Your home at your command” as well as a new description of the Home app’s capabilities:
With the Home app, you can easily and securely control all your HomeKit accessories. Ask Siri to turn off the lights from your iPhone. See who’s at the front door on your iPad. And even control things remotely with the help of Apple TV. The Home app makes all your connected devices work harder — and smarter — for you.
