Apple has released tvOS 27.2 for compatible Apple TV 4K models, adding support for expanded HomePod surround sound setups alongside bug fixes and security improvements.
The update enables compatible Apple TV hardware to work with four HomePod speakers as a surround sound system, expanding Apple’s existing HomePod home theater options.
The feature arrives as Apple continues to build out its latest Apple TV and HomePod lineup. tvOS 27 already introduced a wider set of Apple TV changes, including improvements across Apple Music, Podcasts, AirPlay and accessibility.
tvOS 27.2 can be installed by opening Settings on Apple TV, selecting System, and choosing Software Updates. Users with automatic updates enabled should receive the update without needing to install it manually.
