New Mac Studio reportedly delayed until October due to supply chain issues

Apple’s next-generation Mac Studio may not arrive for several more months, according to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman.
Writing in the latest edition of his Power On newsletter, Gurman said Apple had originally been aiming to release the updated Mac Studio around the middle of the year, but supply chain constraints have now pushed those plans back.
The report suggests the new Mac Studio may not launch until October.
Apple last updated the Mac Studio with M3 Ultra and M4 Max configurations, and the next version is widely expected to feature M5-series chips.
The delay comes amid broader supply chain issues affecting Apple’s Mac lineup. Recently, some Mac mini and Mac Studio configurations became unavailable to order through Apple’s online store, while other models faced delivery estimates stretching out by as much as one to three months.
While those shortages initially sparked speculation that Apple was preparing to refresh the Mac lineup, reports have since suggested a severe global memory chip shortage may be affecting supply.
If Gurman’s latest report is accurate, customers hoping for an updated Mac Studio may now need to wait until the autumn.
