New OLED iPad mini now available, starting at $699

Breaking News Apple’s redesigned iPad mini is now available, with the compact tablet arriving in Apple Stores and with customers today, November 6. The launch brings an 8.5-inch OLED display, A20 Pro chip and water resistance to the smallest iPad.
The new iPad mini starts at $699 in the United States and £699 in the United Kingdom for the Wi-Fi model. Wi-Fi + Cellular versions start at $849 and £849 respectively, with 128GB, 256GB and 512GB storage choices.
Preorders opened on October 28, and Apple confirmed in its original announcement that November 6 marks the start of deliveries and retail availability. Customers can now check local store pickup options and delivery estimates through Apple’s online store, although stock may differ by configuration and location.
For many buyers, the most noticeable change will be the screen. The larger OLED panel brings deeper blacks and higher contrast, while slimmer borders allow Apple to keep the iPad mini’s portable design. The device is also thinner at 5.4mm and carries an IP67 water and dust resistance rating.
The A20 Pro chip powers iPadOS 27 and Apple Intelligence features, while the front camera moves to the landscape edge for video calls. Buyers can choose midnight or starlight, and both Apple Pencil Pro and Apple Pencil (USB-C) are supported. A new TechWoven Smart Folio is sold separately.
The launch puts a more capable compact iPad on sale ahead of the holiday shopping period, but its higher starting price may matter to owners of older models. Our complete guide to the new iPad mini covers the display, performance, accessories and other changes in greater detail.
