Apple rolling out new Apple Watch repair dock to stores for faster software fixes

Apple is reportedly introducing a new Apple Watch repair dock to Apple Stores and Apple Authorized Service Providers that will allow software-related issues to be fixed in-store for the first time.
According to MacRumors, citing a retail source, the new dock will allow technicians to connect an Apple Watch to a Mac and restore watchOS without needing to send the device away to a repair center.
Currently, if an Apple Watch cannot be restored through an iPhone, there is no in-store repair option available. Instead, the watch has to be mailed to an Apple Repair Center, repaired off-site, and then shipped back to the customer.
That process can take several days, or longer in some cases.
The new repair dock is expected to begin rolling out later this month to Apple Stores and Apple Authorized Service Providers.
Once available, it should significantly reduce turnaround times for software-based Apple Watch repairs, allowing many issues to be fixed during a store visit rather than requiring the device to be shipped away.
