Tim Cook teases new product announcement this week, says: ‘There’s something in the air’

Apple CEO Tim Cook has fuelled speculation about an imminent product launch with a cryptic post on X (formerly Twitter), stating, “This week. There’s something in the air.” The message strongly hints at a new MacBook Air or iPad Air, but industry insiders believe a refreshed MacBook Air is the most likely reveal.
Rumors suggest Apple will introduce the M4 chip to the MacBook Air lineup, bringing performance upgrades, including two additional CPU cores, faster memory bandwidth, and a 12MP Center Stage camera. The M4 chip, which made its debut in the MacBook Pro, iMac, and Mac mini in late 2024, boasts a 10-core CPU and 10-core GPU, offering enhanced speed, improved graphics, and greater overall efficiency.
Despite the internal improvements, the new MacBook Air models are not expected to feature major design changes.
Apple has used similar teaser-style announcements in the past, such as last month’s cryptic lead-up to the iPhone 16e launch.
