iPhone Air 2 rumored to launch in new purple color

Apple’s second-generation iPhone Air could introduce a new purple color option when it launches next year, according to a new rumor that also points to several previously reported hardware changes.
Leaker Majin Bu claims the iPhone Air 2 will retain a display similar to the first-generation model while introducing two rear cameras and a new purple finish. The device is expected to launch in early 2027.
The purple color is one of the more notable claims in the latest leak. Previous rumors have also pointed to a light purple or lavender finish for the next-generation model.
Other details shared by Majin Bu broadly align with previous reporting. The Apple Post has previously reported that the iPhone Air 2 is expected to gain a second rear camera, potentially adding an Ultra Wide camera alongside the Main camera.
Analyst Jeff Pu has separately said the iPhone Air 2 will feature a 6.5-inch display, a slightly smaller Dynamic Island, an A20 Pro chip, Apple’s N2 wireless networking chip and C2 modem, alongside 12GB of RAM and an 18-megapixel Center Stage front camera.
Majin Bu has a mixed record when it comes to Apple leaks, so the latest claims should be treated with some caution. The leaker has correctly shared some details about unreleased Apple products in the past, while other claims have failed to materialize or have proven inaccurate.
The leaker has also previously shared images claiming to show iPhone Air 2 packaging featuring a horizontal dual-camera system. The authenticity of those images has not been independently established.
Apple is expected to release the iPhone Air 2 in early 2027, with previous reports pointing to a launch alongside the iPhone 18 and iPhone 18e.
