Apple once again rumored to rename Apple ID to Apple Account’ later this year
Apple is once again rumored to renaming Apple ID—the account used to access Apple services such as the App Store, Apple Music, iCloud, iMessage, FaceTime, and more—to “Apple Account” later this year.
Speaking in his weekly Power On newsletter on Sunday, Bloombergs Mark Gurman corroborated MacRumors’ previous report, which claimed that sources within Apple said that the iPhone maker was experimenting with the new “Apple Account” name, which could be introduced later this year with the release of iOS 18.
An Apple ID is the account used for all-things Apple. It includes the email address and password that you use to sign in as well as all the contact, payment, and security details that you use across Apple services.
