Next-gen ‘Apple Watch Ultra 3’ not currently being worked on by Apple, claims Kuo
Apple isn’t currently working on a successor to the recently launched Apple Watch Ultra 2, according to an insight by reputable Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, who claims that if the iPhone maker doesn’t commence development before December, it could be a sign that a next-gen ‘Apple Watch Ultra 3’ may not launch in 2024.
Writing in a post on Medium, Kuo says “As of now, Apple has yet to kick off the Apple Watch Ultra 3 development officially. It is unusual given the product development schedule.”
Sharing is opinions on why a next-generation model is yet to begin being worked on, Kuo says “I think Apple hasn’t officially kicked off Apple Watch Ultra 3 project because it needs more time to develop innovative health management features, ensure the manufacturability of new features, and address issues related to Micro LED production.”
“If Apple doesn’t officially kick off the Apple Watch Ultra 3 project by December, it’s almost confirmed that we won’t see a new Apple Watch Ultra in 2024,” he says.
Apple launched the Apple Watch Ultra 2 in September, featuring an improved S9 chip for enhanced performance, an upgraded display with 50 percent more brightness over the inaugural version, a new double tap gesture for controlling the wearable without touching the display, and more.
