Apple airs humorous new Privacy on iPhone ad

Apple is airing a humorous new Privacy on iPhone ad touting the features of the Health app, which allows users to control which apps have access to private health data—and which apps don’t.
The ad, voiced by actress and comedian Jane Lynch, is titled “The Waiting Room” and is set in a doctor’s office where patients are being shamed for their private health and fitness troubles, with the voice of Lynch outing the patients in front of one another to demonstrate the lack of privacy in some health-focused apps.
The ad then focuses on one patient who is using an iPhone, which is keeping all their private health and fitness data safe and secure, preventing her from having any conditions outed in front of the crowd.
Apple says “Worried your most personal data might get into the wrong hands? The Health app on iPhone helps you control who sees your health data—and who doesn’t. Because when it comes to your health, privacy matters.”
