Two men jailed for stealing from Apple Store in UK
Two men who stole 10 iPhones from an Apple Store in Reading, UK, and a further 11 iPhones from another Apple Store in the country two days later, have been jailed to nine months and eight months imprisonment respectively for the thefts which took place in December last year.
It is understood that the pair arrived at the Reading Apple Store with an accomplice on December 6 last year, with the group stopped by store security for suspicious activities. The group then grabbed 10 iPhones from the store’s display tables, breaking the security cords and fleeing the store.
As the group made their escape, one crook jumped and kicked the store’s security guard.
According to the Reading Chronicle, the group traveled to an Apple Store in Cambridge, UK, two days later to carryout a similar theft, leading to a further 11 iPhones being stolen.
A member of the public saw the men getting into a car and noted its registration number. They were later stopped by police and one member of the group could be seen hiding the stolen iPhones underneath the driver’s seat.
