Apple shares new 18-minute-long ‘Meet the new MacBook Pro and Mac mini’ video
Apple introduced the new MacBook Pro and Mac mini featuring the next-generation of Apple silicon today, with the iPhone maker sharing a new 18-minute-long ‘Meet the new MacBook Pro and Mac mini’ keynote-style video to unveil the products on its YouTube channel.
Unlike other hardware announcements, the new MacBook Pro and Mac mini weren’t announced with Apple’s typical product launch fanfare, with the company instead quietly announcing the new machines through a press release shared on Apple.com.
The new video, which features Apple’s senior vice president of hardware engineering John Ternus and other Apple executives in Apple Park, is hosted in a keynote-style format, showing off each new addition in the Mac lineup, which are available to order now ahead of availability beginning next week.
The new Mac mini with M2 and M2 Pro delivers faster performance over the previous-generation, offering more unified memory, and advanced connectivity, including support for up to two displays on the M2 model, and up to three displays on the M2 Pro model.
The new 14- and 16-inch MacBook Pro featuring M2 Pro and M2 Max offers greater power-efficient performance and battery life over the previous-generation M1 Pro and M1 Max chips, with Apple touting that the battery life on MacBook Pro is now up to 22 hours — the longest battery life ever in a Mac, supporting Wi-Fi 6E which is up to twice as fast as the previous generation, as well as advanced HDMI, which supports 8K displays for the first time.
