Apple Store in Texas closed because of COVID-19 outbreak amongst staff
Apple’s Southlake Town Square retail store in Southlake, Texas has closed due to a COVID-19 outbreak amongst staff, with NBC News reporting that a total of 22 positive cases among employees have been reported following the Black Friday weekend that began on November 26.
Speaking to former and current Apple Store employees and citing a leaked internal staff memo, NBC says staff at Apple Southlake Town Square had a Webex meeting on Wednesday with one of the store’s managers who reported the total number of positive cases amongst colleagues to be 22 out of the store’s 151 team members.
Reportedly, staff who have COVID-19 will be required to isolate for 10 days and had 48 hours of being symptom-free before being allowed to return.
The Southlake Apple Store webpage shows that the location is due to reopen on Monday, likely after an intensive clean. Employees returning to work on Monday will be required to take a rapid antigen test on Sunday before the store’s scheduled reopening, NBC reports.
