Analyst suggests Apple releasing AirPods Pro 2 with new design and upgraded chip in late 2022
TF International Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo is out with a new report suggesting that Apple will release its first AirPods Pro update in late 2022, featuring an all-new design and a ‘significantly upgraded’ chip.
In a research note seen by 9to5Mac, Kuo reports that Apple’s next-generation AirPods Pro are forecast to arrive in the last quarter of 2022, with earlier insights from Kuo suggesting that the earbuds will bring “innovative AirPods experience[s],” which could hint at earlier rumors of the earbuds introducing new health-monitoring features, such as a small accelerometer that could potentially determine body movement or something that could help a user monitor fitness while wearing their AirPods.
The second-generation AirPods Pro are expected to receive a major redesign, with Apple rumored to remove the short stem and give the earbuds a similar design to the Beats Fit Pro which sit inside a listener’s ear without any overhang.
