Apple releases first iOS 15.1 beta — Here’s what’s new

Apple has released developer beta builds of iOS 15.1, iPadOS 15.1, watchOS 8.1, and tvOS 15.1, bringing bug fixes and improvements following the public release of iOS 15.
iOS 15.1 sees Apple re-enable SharePlay, the new FaceTime feature that allows users to listen to songs, watch movies, share their screens, and view apps together during FaceTime calls, a feature Apple announced had been delayed in August and would miss September’s release of iOS 15.
The update also sees Apple introduce a new feature that allows users to upload their COVID-19 vaccination status to the Health app on iPhone. Users can then use this data to create a vaccination pass to show in the Wallet app. “With iOS 15, users can download and store verifiable health records, including COVID-19 vaccinations and test results, in the Health app, says Apple. “Users can choose to share verifiable health records stored in the Health app with approved third-party apps requesting this information, like airlines, event venues, and other businesses that facilitate in-person interactions.”
