UK carrier EE now including AppleCare Services with its iPhone insurance plans

The UK’s largest carrier, EE, has announced that iPhone customers who take out either Damage Cover or Full Cover insurance will now benefit from AppleCare Services, which will allow for damaged devices to be taken to an Apple Store or one of Apple’s Authorised Service Providers for in-store repairs.

Available to both new and upgrading customers, EE is the first UK network to include AppleCare Services that last the lifetime of a customer’s insurance policy. In addition to offering repair services at Apple retail stores and at Apple Authorised Service Providers, the plan also offers 24/7 priority access to AppleCare experts by web chat or over the phone.

The plan also offers coverage against batteries that retain less than 80% of their original capacity with Apple-certified repairs and replacements with genuine Apple parts.

In a press release online, Sharon Meadows, Director of Propositions, BT Consumer said: “At EE, we know how important it is for our customers to be able to stay connected, which is why we’re thrilled to announce that we’ll now be offering unique AppleCare Services as part of our insurance packages. This is the next step in the evolution of our relationship with Apple, following on from our Full Works Plan for iPhone last year. Today’s announcement demonstrates our ongoing collaboration with Apple to offer our customers the best of Apple’s services and devices with the UK’s No.1 network.”

The launch of AppleCare Services with its iPhone insurance plans follows after EE introduced a new “Full Works Plan for iPhone” last year that provides customers with access to Apple Music, Apple TV+ and Apple Arcade for no additional charge for the duration of their contract.

Online the carrier notes that excess when taking a device to an Apple Store or Apple Authorised Service Providers will be added to the customer’s mobile bill. As well as its AppleCare Services, EE has also expanded its own in-store repair services, which are now available in 85 stores across the country.
