Samsung launches new ‘iTest’ tool to let iPhone users test out Android
Samsung has launched “iTest,” a new interactive tool that invites iPhone users to “get a little taste of Samsung” through a web app that simulates the Android operating system.
Users visiting the Android simulator are prompted to add the Samsung iTest web application to their iPhone’s home screen, where it can be launched to replicate many of the main functions of the OS, letting users play around with the home screen, various stock apps including the Phone, Messages, Camera, Settings, and Gallery, as well as tutorials for the Samsung Kids and Samsung Health apps.
Users are also able to browse the Galaxy Store and receive simulated phone calls and text messages that highlight different Android features.
You’re about to get a little taste of Samsung, without changing phones. We can’t replicate every function, but you should quickly see that there’s nothing daunting about switching to the other side.
As first spotted by MacRumors, the new simulator is part of a Samsung advertising campaign in New Zealand but is available to users worldwide. It is yet to be seen if Samsung decides to officially expand the campaign further afield.
