Apple rumored to launch 10.5-inch entry-level iPad in spring
Apple is said to be working on an update to its entry-level iPad, which will see the device get a slightly larger 10.5-inch display, an A13 chip, and a base 64GB storage configuration, according to a report from China.
As spotted by iMore, Chinese blog cnBeta says the new iPad will still have the same design as the current 10.2-inch entry-level model with Touch ID, but will have a thinner and lighter body.
CnBeta says that according to “exposed news”, a new generation iPad (iPad 9 if you’re counting) will be released in the Spring of 2021. The report says it will feature a 10.5-inch LED screen, whilst retaining the basic design of the current model, including traditional Touch ID. The report does say the body will be thinner and lighter, however.
The report suggests the new device will have the same chip found inside the iPhone 11, as well as 4GB of RAM. The blog claims the device will not switch to USB-C, like the iPad Pro and iPad Air.
Touching on price, the report says that the ninth-generation iPad may start at $299.
