Apple shipping faulty iPhone 12 cases without speaker holes
Apple appears to have been shipping a faulty batch of iPhone 12 cases to customers, which do not have speaker or microphone holes as intended.
As spotted by MacRumors, at least two posts on Reddit show images of iPhone 12 cases that have arrived without the cutouts for the device’s built‑in microphones and stereo speakers, which are located on either side of the lightning port.
Customers started to receive deliveries of iPhone 12 accessories over the weekend, with the low number of reports of this apparent manufacturing defect suggesting this issue is limited to only a handful of customers, all of which will be eligible for a replacement by contacting Apple or visiting an Apple Store.
Apple’s range of iPhone 12 accessories went on sale when Apple started preorders last week.
