Apple to remove power brick from the iPhone SE, not just the new iPhone 12
According to reputable Bloomberg author Mark Gurman, Apple plans to remove the charging adapter and wired headphones from the box of its entire iPhone lineup, not just the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro, that is due to be announced in just under an hour.
Rumors have long pointed to Apple dropping wired headphones and the power brick from the box of all four of its iPhone 12 models, as seen with the Apple Watch Series 6 last month. Instead, customers who don’t already own a power adapter will be required to purchase one separately, with the iPhone only coming bundled with a USB-C to Lightning cable.
Look for the iPhone SE box to shrink considerably. Also for the USB-A to Lightning cable to become a USB-C to Lightning cable. Headphones out too.

Gurman’s claim suggests that the iPhone SE box will “shrink considerably,” with all currently sold iPhones expected to have the charging adapter and headphones removed from the box.
Leaks earlier today gave us our first look at the iPhone 12 mini and iPhone 12 Pro, showing the various new finishes for the upcoming handsets, all of which are said to support 5G and feature a new flattened design.
