Apple building 192-room hotel at new campus in Austin, Texas
Apple will add a new 192-room hotel to its upcoming $1 billion, 3-million-square-foot campus in Austin, Texas, according to revised construction plans shared by Culturemap.
The report claims that the on-site first of its kind hotel will span 75,500 feet and will have six stories, but it is currently unknown how the hotel will be branded and if it will be open exclusively for Apple employees visiting the campus from other corporate locations.
Apple originally submitted plans for the huge Austin corporate office in December 2018, with Culturemap reporting that updated versions of the development plans were approved in late April that included the new hotel.
Construction started on the site in late 2019, with work expected to be completed in 2022. The campus, which initially will house 5,000 employees, will have the capacity to grow to 15,000 over time, with Apple opening a 50-acre nature and wildlife preserve on site which will be accessible to the public.
