Apple has released watchOS 6.1, bringing various performance improvements, compatibility with the AirPods Pro, and support for the Apple Watch Series 1 and Apple Watch Series 2.
No major changes were discovered during the watchOS 6.1 beta testing period, and Apple’s release notes suggest this update is relatively minor, although it is the first time watchOS 6 is being released for owners of the Apple Watch Series 1 and Apple Watch Series 2 following the initial release of the software exclusively for the Apple Watch Series 3 and above in September.
The release notes for watchOS 6.1 reads:
watchOS 6.1 introduces support for AirPods Pro and includes improvements and bug fixes. This update also brings watchOS 6 to Apple Watch Series 1 and Series 2.
