Apple’s new 16-inch MacBook Pro could launch any day now, according to sources
Apple’s rumored new 16-inch MacBook Pro will launch before the end of October, according to supply chain sources cited by DigiTimes, suggesting the new machine will launch any day now.
According to the report, Taiwanese manufacturer Quanta Computer has begun volume shipments of the 16-inch machine that features an “ultra-thin bezel design,” an a new scissor keyboard.
Last week, The Apple Post shared images discovered in the recently released macOS Catalina 10.15.1 developer beta that showed what appeared to be a new MacBook Pro with slightly thinner bezels, saved by Apple with “16” in the file name, possibly referring to the expected new model.
Apple had been rumored to be hosting an event in October to unveil its new MacBook Pro alongside updates to the iPad Pro, although as we get further into the month with no official confirmation of the event by Apple, the likely hood of one happening is dwindling, so it is likely the new Mac will launch quietly within a Press Release on Apple.com.
The narrow bezels on the new MacBook Pro could allow Apple to use a 16-inch display but continue to use a similar physical overall size as the current-generation 15-inch MacBook Pro.
