Apple to include USB-C charger in the box of the iPhone 11, claims source
Apple will include a USB-C charger in the box of its upcoming iPhone 11 and iPhone 11 Max/Pro, according to ChargerLAB who claim in a tweet that Apple will ditch the 5W charger in favor of a more powerful USB-C charger, alongside a Lightning to USB-C cable.
The iPhone 11 itself is expected to retain a Lightning port however, the charging cable supplied with the device is rumored to have a USB-C end which plugs into the wall charger, and a Lightning end which connects to the iPhone.
Apple already sells this type of wire, but it has never been bundled with an iPhone – meaning customers who want to fast charge their device must purchase a USB-C charger and Lightning to USB-C cable separately, costing $48.
Rumors of Apple bundling a faster 18W USB-C power adapter with the iPhone have been around since before the arrival of the iPhone XS last year, and would mean a 30 minute plug-in could charge an iPhone by 50%.
