Google killing popular AdSense app for iOS by the end of 2019
Google has announced it shall discontinue the Google AdSense app for both iOS and Android by the end of the year, with the company focusing its attention on its mobile web interface to offer a more uniform experience across all platforms.
AdSense, the tool which allows publishers to track revenue earned through ads on their sites, has been available on the App Store since 2013, the year in which the service launched.
Within a post shared on the Inside AdSense blog, Google said its AdSense apps will be deprecated in the coming months, and will be discontinued and removed from the app stores by the end of 2019, despite “more than a third of [users accessing] AdSense from mobile devices.”
Google’s last major update too AdSense was in January when the company redesigned the service with a new Material Theme. AdSense Product Manager, Andrew Gildfind said: “Our vision is an AdSense that does more to keep your account healthy, letting you focus on creating great content, and comes to you when issues or opportunities need your attention,”.
An exact date for the discontinuation wasn’t shared.
