Apple launches new Entrepreneur Camp for businesses owned or led by women
Apple is launching a new app development Entrepreneur Camp, founded to create open opportunities for app-driven businesses that are owned or led by women.
Starting in 2019, the new program offers an intensive technology lab, specialised support for app developers, and ongoing mentoring. Each session will be held on a quarterly basis, with 20 app companies accepted for each round.
Once accepted into the program, participants will be invited to join Apple in Cupertino, possibly at Apple’s flagship head quarters – Apple Park.
Within a new webpage published to Apple.com, Tim Cook said Apple is committed to helping more women assume leadership roles across the tech sector and beyond, and that the new program will cultivate female leadership in the app development community.
Apple is committed to helping more women assume leadership roles across the tech sector and beyond, said Tim Cook, Apple’s CEO. We’re proud to help cultivate female leadership in the app development community with the new Apple Entrepreneur Camp, and we’re inspired both by the incredible work that’s already happening, and what’s sure to come.
To be part of the new Entrepreneur Camp you must submit an application through Apple.com. Those applying must own a business which is female-founded, co-founded, or led and have at least one woman on their app development team.
