Apple has confirmed that the ability to make group FaceTime calls has been removed from iOS 12 and macOS Mojave, noting that the feature will return two the operating systems later in the year within a software update.

Group FaceTime calls were a long awaited feature, and one of the most highly anticipated additions to iOS 12 for many. The announcement was made within the release notes of iOS 12 beta 7 that was rolled out to developers moments ago.

Apple hasn’t said specifically why group FaceTime calls have been pulled, however; luckily it sounds as if for now they will be arriving later in the year.

Group FaceTime has been removed from the initial release of iOS 12 and will ship in a future software update later this fall.
