Ahead of the official release of Apple’s new (PRODUCT)RED iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus, YouTuber MKBHD has gotten his hands upon the handset early to share an exclusive unboxing and first look at the black display and striking red backing, complete with red buttons and matching camera cut-out found on the device.
Inside the box of Apple’s special edition RED iPhone you find the standard Lightning cable, headphones, and wall block as you do with any iPhone, with Apple including a special leaflet within the box detailing the company’s involvement with the RED fund.
Apple will donate a portion of proceeds from sales of the two new devices to RED, a charity Apple has partnered with since 2006 that has seen over $160 million to the Global Fund that aims to fight HIV/AIDS through testing, counseling, treatment and prevention programs.
Customers can pre-order the (PRODUCT)RED iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus today, with deliveries beginning on Friday April 13. – Apple is releasing the handsets in 64GB and 256GB storage configurations.
