Apple shares new image of their Michigan Avenue Apple Store in Chicago ahead of grand opening
Ahead of the official grand opening of their new Michigan Avenue Apple Store in Chicago scheduled for late October, Apple’s Senior Vice President of Retail, Angela Ahrendts, has tweeted a new image of the soon to be complete flagship store alongside revealing a new webpage on Apple.com dedicated to the store.
It’s been reported that Apple has spent $27 million on new seamless floor-to-ceiling glass walls that when completed will be as iconic as the glass cube on Apple’s New York’s Fifth Avenue store. – The electronics giant is moving its flagship Chicago store from 679 N. Michigan Ave. to the north bank of the Chicago River, a development real estate observers say marks a shift in the Mag Mile’s center of retail gravity.”
It was revealed back in June that Apple’s Michigan store would look like a huge MacBook from the sky, with Apple installing a roof with a centred Apple logo to closely resemble their line of MacBook computers.
Apple Michigan Avenue
Chicago’s creative roots run deep. It’s where house music and rock and roll first took the stage. Where world-famous architecture lives. And where contemporary art thrives. Along the Chicago riverfront where the city was founded, we’re opening Apple Michigan Avenue. A space for the next generation of creative pioneers to come together, connect, and share their talent.
