New drone footage captures Apple Park in 4K detail, showing completed structures and landscaping
Shortly after Apple revealed the name for their super-sized second campus, officially known as Apple Park, new drone footage has been released showing completed structures and landscaping ahead of April when Apple says 12,000 staff members shall descend onto the new location.
The footage shows Apple’s all-solar-panel roof on their main parking garage is complete, with more solar panels being added to the main 2.8 million-square-foot campus. While little detail has leaked about the interior of Apple Park, the footage shows major progress on Apple’s on-site fitness centre as well as other smaller buildings.
While heavy equipment and construction machinery is still on-site, Apple Park is now being prepared for landscaping work, and more trees have been planted above the main access tunnel. – In a statement last week to honour what would have been Steve Jobs’ 62nd birthday, Apple announced that their 1,000-seat auditorium shall be named the ‘Steve Jobs Theatre’.
Apple Park shall run on 100% renewable energy and be home to the world’s largest panels of curved glass that shall be installed to the 2.8 million-square-foot main building. The 12,000 staff members moving to the campus over the next six months will enjoy a 100,000 square foot fitness centre, with members of the public able to view the headquarters through Apple’s public visitors centre which includes a cafe and Apple Store.
