Apple’s new Single Sign-On feature is now available on iOS & tvOS on selected SSO providers
First announced at WWDC in June, and failing to meet the promised September release date, today Apple has activated their new Single Sign-On (SSO) feature to iOS & tvOS users.
The Single Sign-On system promises to let you enter the username you use with your TV provider just once, and it’ll collate whatever apps and services you can access automatically.
Current services supporting Single Sign-On…
- CenturyLink Prism
- DirecTV
- Dish
- GVTC
- GTA
- Hawaiian Telcom
- Hotwire
- MetroCast
- Sling
Overtime, it’s expected that more providers will be supported. In support documentation, Apple advises that some apps which are compatible with a Single Sign-On provider may still require manual authentication before they update to work with the new password system.
