Apple scraps annual Apple Music Festival in London
Apple has confirmed to Music Business Worldwide that their annual Apple Music Festival in London has been officially scrapped after 10 years, with the company cancelling the former 10 night-long event which offered iTunes customers in the United Kingdom the chance to win tickets to see artists perform live in concert.
The free annual concert which was previously known as the iTunes Festival before being rebranded to the Apple Music Festival in 2015 has seen the worlds most popular artists play for free at the Roundhouse in London, England. Over the years, musicians such as Coldplay, Justin Timberlake, Katy Perry, Lady Gaga, Calvin Harris, Ellie Goulding, and Adele had all taken part in the annual event which was broadcast live and on-demand through Apple Music.
The statement issued by Apple didn’t say why the annual event had been cancelled, or if the festival would return in the future. – The iTunes Festival started off life at London’s ICA then spent two years at Koko before moving to The Roundhouse in 2009.
