Apple Maps has expanded Transit Directions across the United Kingdom, covering most towns and cities
Today Apple has expanded Transit Directions across the United Kingdom, with the once London exclusive feature launching to iOS users within and between large metropolitan areas such as Birmingham, Manchester, Glasgow, Leeds-Bradford, Liverpool, Newcastle, Sheffield, Bristol, and Cardiff, including some outlying areas, and other regions in England, Scotland, and Wales as well as coverage to a number of mid-size cities, small towns.
Apple Maps now supports all rail services across the United Kingdom, including with CrossCountry, TransPennine Express, Great Western Railway, Grand Central, Northern Rail, East Midlands Trains, Virgin Trains, Virgin Trains East Coast, Arriva Trains Wales, Hull Trains, and other train services.
Apple’s Transit Directions also support multiple bus and light-rail services such as Manchester’s Metrolink and Bristol’s First Bus network. As of yet, the new Transit Directions remain unavailable in Belfast and elsewhere in Northern Ireland.
