Apple says it has never sold more Macs in a single year

Breaking News Apple says fiscal 2026 was the strongest year for Mac sales in the company’s history, with Mac revenue climbing sharply as MacBook Neo and MacBook Pro helped bring in both upgraders and first-time Mac buyers.
During Apple’s latest earnings call, CEO John Ternus said the company “has never sold more Macs in a fiscal year” than it did in 2026. Mac revenue reached $10.8 billion in the September quarter alone, up 24% year over year despite supply constraints.
Apple said the performance was driven in part by MacBook Neo and MacBook Pro, with double-digit Mac growth across both developed and emerging markets. The company also reported record numbers of Mac upgraders and customers who were new to the Mac in several regions.
MacBook Neo has been one of Apple’s biggest changes to the lower end of the Mac lineup, giving the company a cheaper notebook designed to bring more users into the ecosystem. Apple has since raised MacBook Neo’s starting price by $100, while its education price has also increased substantially since launch.
The record comes just before another major Mac refresh reaches stores. Apple’s new 14-inch MacBook Pro with M6, redesigned Touch MacBook Pro with PROLED XDR, and M6 iMac all begin arriving on November 6.
Apple’s broader earnings results underline how important Mac was to the quarter. While iPhone remained the company’s largest hardware business, Mac was one of the fastest-growing categories, helping offset declines in iPad and Wearables, Home and Accessories. The Apple Post’s breakdown of Apple’s Q4 winners and losers shows just how sharply Mac outperformed several other product categories.
