Last chance to save your iPhone Duo configuration before pre-orders

Apple is giving iPhone Duo buyers one final opportunity to prepare their order before pre-orders open tomorrow, with the company confirming that saved configurations must be completed by 9 p.m. PT on Thursday, October 15.
In a new Newsroom update, Apple says customers can configure iPhone Duo now, choose accessories, arrange a trade-in and secure leasing or financing pre-approval ahead of the rush. Saving those selections to a shopping bag before the cutoff means buyers can check out with a single click when pre-orders go live at 5 a.m. PT on Friday, October 16.
That makes today the final day to complete Apple’s advance “Get Ready” process. Apple opened the pre-order preparation process earlier this week, allowing customers to choose their preferred configuration before orders officially begin.
Pre-orders open at 5 a.m. PT, 8 a.m. ET and 1 p.m. in the UK on Friday. We have a full guide to iPhone Duo pre-order times here for anyone planning to order as soon as sales begin.
Preparing in advance could be especially useful for iPhone Duo, Apple’s first foldable iPhone and one of its most significant new hardware launches in years. The device starts at $1,999 in the United States and £1,999 in the UK, with 256GB, 512GB, 1TB and 2TB storage options available in star white and night sky.
Apple says customers using the Get Ready process can also choose accessories before checkout. That includes the new iPhone Duo Case and iPhone Duo Folio with Kickstand, both designed specifically around the foldable form factor. Buyers still deciding what they need can read our guide to what comes in the iPhone Duo box before finalizing an order.
The company’s latest reminder comes as the long wait for iPhone Duo enters its final stretch. More than five weeks will have passed between Apple unveiling the device and pre-orders opening, giving buyers considerably more time than usual to decide whether they want to be among the first to own it.
Customers who do not save a configuration before Apple’s 9 p.m. PT deadline will still be able to place a normal pre-order when sales open. The advantage of preparing early is speed: Apple says saved choices can be checked out in a single click once ordering begins.
iPhone Duo will officially launch one week later on Friday, October 23, when the first pre-orders begin arriving and the device becomes available in Apple Stores. Buyers should also be aware that iPhone Duo is expected to require a software update during setup when the first devices reach customers.
For anyone determined to secure an iPhone Duo as quickly as possible, Apple’s message is simple: decide your configuration now, save it before tonight’s cutoff, and be ready when the pre-order button goes live tomorrow.
