Apple TV 4K now has built-in microphones for hands-free Siri AI

The fourth-generation Apple TV 4K introduces three built-in far-field microphones, allowing users to control the streaming box with Siri without touching the remote.
Apple says advanced echo cancellation helps isolate a user’s voice from television and speaker audio, allowing “Siri” and “Hey Siri” commands to be recognized even while content is playing.
The microphones are one of the biggest hardware changes in the new Apple TV 4K, which also introduces the A19 chip and Apple’s new Siri AI experience.
Siri AI becomes a full-screen TV experience
When users ask for something to watch, Siri AI can present results through a richer full-screen interface. During playback, responses appear in a smaller overlay so the content remains visible.
Siri AI can also answer follow-up questions about a movie or show and, when paired with a compatible Apple Intelligence-enabled iPhone, use personal context for requests such as finding a program someone recommended in Messages.
The remote is still there — and harder to lose
Apple has not removed the Siri Remote. Instead, the new remote adds Find My support with Precision Finding and the ability to play a sound, giving users another way to locate it when it disappears around the living room.
Apple TV 4K pre-orders are open now, with availability beginning November 13.
