HomePod mini 2 gets new Sound Glow music light effects

HomePod mini 2 introduces a new visual feature called Sound Glow, turning the top of Apple’s compact smart speaker into a color-matched light show that reacts to music.
The effect pulses in real time with bass and treble, with colors generated from the album artwork shown in Now Playing.
Apple says Sound Glow can also create bespoke animations for soundscapes such as rain, giving the speaker a more visual role when it is playing ambient audio.
Sound Glow adds a new visual layer to HomePod mini
The original HomePod mini already uses its top surface for Siri feedback and playback controls, but Sound Glow expands that area into a more prominent visual element tied directly to what is playing.
Voice control for Sound Glow requires an Apple Intelligence-enabled iPhone running the latest software, according to Apple.
The feature arrives alongside the S10 chip, five new color options and future Siri AI support on the new HomePod mini 2.
Apple is accepting pre-orders now, with HomePod mini 2 reaching customers and stores on October 30.
