Apple has released the second developer beta of iOS 27.2 for iPhone, continuing testing of its next major iOS 27 update less than a week after the first beta arrived.
iOS 27.2 beta 2 is now available to registered developers through Settings > General > Software Update > Beta Updates on compatible iPhones with the iOS 27 Developer Beta channel enabled.
The release follows the first iOS 27.2 developer beta released last week, which brought several notable additions including Apple’s redesigned Health app, expanded Siri AI language support and profiles in the Apple TV app.
Apple has not yet detailed significant new user-facing features specifically added in beta 2. As testing gets underway, changes are likely to include bug fixes and refinements alongside any smaller features discovered in the software.
The first beta introduced the redesigned Health app alongside several other changes. Siri AI support expanded to French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese and Spanish, while Group FaceTime gained Dual Capture support and Apple TV profiles came to iPhone.
Apple’s own iOS 27.2 beta release notes also detail changes to App Tracking Transparency in Europe. An alternative expanded tracking prompt is supported, with the new prompt required for users in France, Germany, Italy, Poland and Romania.
The Apple Post previously detailed the App Tracking Transparency changes coming with iOS 27.2, which form part of Apple’s continuing adjustments to iOS in Europe.
Health remains one of the biggest areas to watch during the iOS 27.2 beta cycle. Apple is testing a substantially redesigned Health experience built around Apple Intelligence, including personalized Insights and a new Longevity section.
Apple has said the finished redesigned Health experience will become available later in 2026, beginning in U.S. English. Its presence in the iOS 27.2 beta does not necessarily mean every Health feature will be enabled when iOS 27.2 first reaches the public.
The iOS 27.2 beta cycle is also unusual because Apple has moved ahead with general testing before releasing iOS 27.1 broadly to developers. iOS 27.1 is being kept as a separate branch for iPhone Duo, which Apple says will ship with iOS 27.1 when it becomes available on October 23.
Apple has not announced a public release date for iOS 27.2. Further developer and public beta releases are expected before the update is made available to all compatible iPhone users.
