Apple has started testing iOS 27.2, bringing a redesigned Health app, new Siri AI languages and a collection of smaller changes to iPhone.
The first developer beta arrived shortly after the public release of iOS 27 and, unusually, before Apple has released an iOS 27.1 beta to developers. iOS 27.1 is expected to be closely tied to the upcoming iPhone Duo.
One of the biggest additions in iOS 27.2 beta 1 is Apple’s redesigned Health app, which was previewed during its September event. The update refreshes the app’s interface as Apple continues expanding the health experience on iPhone.
Siri AI is also expanding to five additional languages. The beta adds support for French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese and Spanish, broadening access to Apple’s next-generation Siri experience.
Apple TV profiles are coming to the Apple TV app on iPhone and iPad as part of the update, allowing different users to maintain their own viewing experience and recommendations.
For developers, iOS 27.2 introduces a way to help users transfer supported data and settings from an existing app to its designated replacement, making transitions between old and replacement apps less disruptive.
Apple is also making a regional change to App Tracking Transparency in the European Union. Developers will have the option to use an alternative Apple-provided system prompt when asking users for tracking permission.
The beta additionally contains references to an option for overwriting iPhone storage with blank data when erasing a device, although the feature is not yet a standard user-facing option and may change during testing.
As with any first developer beta, Apple may add, remove or alter features before iOS 27.2 reaches the public. Further beta releases are expected as testing continues.
