Apple could launch up to seven new products in October — here’s what to expect

Apple may have finished its September iPhone launch, but October could bring an unusually large second wave of new hardware, with as many as seven products now linked to the final months of 2026.

The expected lineup stretches across iPad, Mac and the smart home. Reports point to a new OLED iPad mini, an M6 iMac, an M6 14-inch MacBook Pro, redesigned high-end OLED MacBooks, a new Apple TV 4K, HomePod mini 2 and Apple’s long-rumored smart home hub.

Not all seven products are equally certain to arrive in October. Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman has said several are expected later this year, while the timing of Apple’s home hub remains more fluid and the redesigned high-end MacBook could slip into early 2027. Apple has not announced an October event.

OLED iPad mini

The iPad mini could receive one of its biggest upgrades in years. The Apple Post reported in August that a new iPad mini with an OLED display could launch by late October, replacing the LCD panel used by the current model.

Recent reports have linked the tablet to an A19 Pro or A20-class chip, alongside improved water resistance and a redesigned speaker system that could remove the visible speaker holes. The display is still expected to run at 60Hz rather than gaining ProMotion.

The timing has remained remarkably consistent. We highlighted the OLED iPad mini as a likely post-iPhone launch before Apple’s September event, and it was indeed absent from “Surprise and shine.”

M6 iMac

Apple is also expected to refresh the 24-inch iMac with its M6 chip. This looks likely to be a straightforward performance update rather than a redesign.

The Apple Post previously reported that the M6 iMac is expected to bring refreshed color options, although exactly which finishes Apple has planned remains unknown.

The update would take the iMac directly from M4 to M6 after Apple skipped an M5 version. Its current thin 24-inch design is expected to remain.

M6 14-inch MacBook Pro

A new entry-level 14-inch MacBook Pro is expected with the M6 chip. This model should retain the familiar MacBook Pro design and sit below Apple’s much more ambitious high-end notebooks.

References believed to relate to the M6 MacBook Pro have already appeared in Apple software. Apple’s own macOS code previously exposed references to several unreleased Macs, including the entry-level 14-inch model.

The distinction matters because Apple could effectively have two very different MacBook launches close together: a familiar MacBook Pro with a new chip and a much more radical flagship model.

MacBook Ultra / redesigned high-end MacBook

The biggest Mac announcement could be Apple’s redesigned high-end notebook, which reports have variously described as a next-generation MacBook Pro or MacBook Ultra.

The machine is expected to introduce an OLED touchscreen, a thinner chassis and a Dynamic Island-style display cutout. Current reporting points to M5 Pro and M5 Max chips, despite the standard 14-inch MacBook Pro moving to M6.

There are signs Apple could keep its existing mini-LED MacBook Pro models on sale alongside the OLED machines, potentially creating a new premium tier rather than simply replacing the current lineup.

The “MacBook Ultra” name is not confirmed. Omdia has even raised the possibility of an M5 Ultra configuration, although Bloomberg’s reporting has focused on M5 Pro and M5 Max and Apple has never put an Ultra-class chip inside a notebook.

New Apple TV 4K

A new Apple TV 4K has been rumored for so long that it is now one of Apple’s most overdue hardware updates. The current model dates back to 2022.

Bloomberg reported earlier this year that the next Apple TV hardware had already been finished for months and was being used by Apple employees. Its release was reportedly tied to the readiness of Apple’s new Siri experience.

With Siri AI now arriving, the new Apple TV is expected to use a faster processor and could gain newer wireless technology. The update could also make Apple TV a more important part of the company’s wider smart-home strategy.

HomePod mini 2

HomePod mini could finally receive its first proper hardware refresh since 2020.

The next model is expected to use a considerably newer processor, with reports also pointing to improved audio, upgraded Ultra Wideband capabilities and refreshed colors. Like Apple TV, the hardware was reportedly completed months ago while Apple waited for Siri AI.

Its importance may go beyond a faster speaker. HomePod mini is expected to sit alongside Apple TV and the upcoming home hub as Apple gives Siri a much larger role around the home.

Apple Home Hub

The most uncertain product on the list is also potentially the most important.

Apple has spent years developing a dedicated smart-home display, sometimes referred to unofficially as HomePad. The Apple Post reported that its launch window could begin in October and stretch into early 2027.

The device is expected to have a roughly seven-inch square display and combine Siri, Home controls, FaceTime, widgets, calendars, reminders and security camera feeds. Apple is believed to have developed a tabletop version with a speaker-like base and another designed for wall mounting.

There are signs Apple is preparing for a much bigger Home push. Apple Stores are reportedly being reworked ahead of upcoming smart-home launches, including changes to display areas and accessory bays.

Will Apple hold an October event?

Seven potential products certainly sounds like enough for another keynote, but an October launch does not automatically mean an October event.

The Apple Post recently looked at Apple’s history of October launches. The company has alternated between traditional events and waves of Newsroom announcements, using both approaches for significant Mac and iPad launches.

The Home Hub could be the deciding factor. An M6 iMac, MacBook Pro chip refresh, Apple TV and HomePod mini could all comfortably arrive through press releases. An entirely new smart-home category built around Siri would require considerably more explanation.

For now, there is no October event on Apple’s calendar, and some of these products could arrive later in the year or slip into 2027. But the list of hardware Apple still has waiting after September is becoming difficult to ignore.
